Representatives from the West Iron County School Board, Northstar Health System, and the West Iron County football team showed off the school?s brand new scoreboard prior to the Meet the Wykons event. Pictured in the front row, from left, are Northstar CEO Bruce Rampage, Mark Tousignant of the Northstar Board of Directors, Northstar COO Connie Koutouzos, and Rob Possanza and Beth Vezzetti of the West Iron County School Board. In the second row, from left, are varsity football coach Jim Kralovek, football team members Adam Newby and Bryson Heimerl, West Iron County Schools Superintendent Chris Thomson, Northstar CFO Glenn Dobson, Roy Polich and Gary Pisoni of the West Iron County School Board, Rick Kent of the Northstar Board of Directors, football team members Andy Ridolphi and Andrew Peterson, and junior varsity football coach Kevin Leonoff.

The scoreboard was designed and manufactured by ColorTech of Green Bay, Wis., which also designs scoreboards for NFL and collegiate level football teams.

Denise Maloney, wellness coordinator for West Iron, pointed out that the new scoreboard is identical to the one currently used on the Green Bay Packers' practice field.

Maloney added that the school's old scoreboard was well over 20 years old and its lights were becoming unreliable.

West Iron was able to purchase the new scoreboard through a donation from Northstar Health System of Iron River and Bellin Hospital of Green Bay.

"Their names will remain on our scoreboard as a constant reminder of their commitment to our school district and their support as they continue to partner with West Iron County Schools to help create a healthier generation," said Maloney. "Together, we share a common goal of growing healthy children, healthy families, and ultimately, a healthy community."

Joining Northstar and Bellin in donating to the scoreboard was the family of the late Tom Gendzwill. Gendzwill was a lifelong resident of Iron River and former West Iron County High School principal.
